Kerikeri, a tourist mecca in New Zealand’s renowned Bay of Islands, is a town that gives you plenty of choice when it comes to quality boutique accommodation.
There are, as you’d expect, quite a few places offering Bed and Breakfast, and some of them are really luxurious. Some have stunning locations with beautiful views. But how many could offer you all that, plus incredible dining – provided by your host, a highly skilled chef? We know of only one: Heron Hill Lodge .
Owners and hosts Keith and Miranda Pasley have created a unique guest experience in their hilltop location, overlooking the beautiful Kerikeri inlet. The lodge combines the relaxed and hospitable welcome of a family home with the quality of food more usual in a top restaurant.
Keith’s cooking skills are a local legend and guests are invited to dine in-house by arrangement. We love it that he uses produce grown in Heron Hill’s own garden, or locally sourced, and we especially enjoy Miranda’s wine selections, from the local Northland region, to complement the menu.
Breakfast is served on the terrace with views over water. All in all, it’s a lovely place to stay and if you’re looking for somewhere special in the Bay of Islands, we highly recommend it.
